A must for induction cooking
When we got our induction range in February of 2022, our favorite aluminum griddle was no longer usable. Reading reviews it became clear that the Chantal ceramic coated griddle was the reviewer’s first choice. However we had to wait since it was out of stock everywhere. Chefs Corner Store was the first we found to have it in stock again, and we immediately ordered it. What a wonderful cooking surface! We use it so often that we usually leave it out on the cooktop. We’ve found that everything can be cooked on it. Besides pancakes we do our eggs (all ways), steaks and pork chops, vegetable etc. For pancakes we put it over two burners, but for other dishes we just put one end over the appropriate size ‘burner’ and cook using one half of the griddle. It is much easier to fit irregular cuts of meat on it than in a frying pan, without getting up to our 16” one. We just use a splash of Canola oil that we spread around with a paper towel. To clean up we just wipe with a dry paper towel which usually cleans it perfectly. There remains a thin coating of oil, kind of like a seasoned piece of cast iron ware. Only rarely do we have to actually wash it. We take great care not to overheat it and the surface looks like the day we bought it. Great purchase!
